Blue component on switch side

Postby Adyandlynsey » 12 Mar 2012, 22:19

Hi I have a pair of mk4 Ghds and when I have opened them up the blue Component on the switch side appears to have burnt out and become detatched at one side. Can you please tell me what this is and what is the likely cause Of this happening. Can this component be replaced or do I need a complete new pcb? Many thanks Lynsey

Hi Lynsey,

First question.... Are the heater wires soldered or screwed to the circuit board?

Gary

HI Lynsey,

That's odd. I believe it's a varistor. If you know your way round the farnell website then you can probably find the replacement component. If not then we can supply a new (2nd hand) PCB:
