Thermistor faulty or come unatached if both heaters are good.

Hi,
either the swivel connector is shot or C1 or C5 have gone bad would be my guess.
Pull the swivel conector apart and see if its backend, if you have a ESR meter test c1/c5

Hi, not yet found a faulty thermistor to run cold always run hot in my experiance, a ghd topping out at 140 is either heater is not clamped to the plate or the switch side heater is blown. The round type thermistors are realy good, measure its ohms out of circuit at room temp and if you get 100K +/-...

Hi alfredo24,

Replace R8, the others are of a high value (10mohm i think) and may not register on your tester.

r8 is 50 ohms the same as r11

Hi Gary, i had that assumption also but its not the major fault. The major fault is due to poor design layout, basicly they designed a track feed throu on the flexable circuit on a bend which fails, same place every time. second major fault is the thermistors used are not good, and takes out the the...

repairing them but they take so long :(

out of the last 17 that came in 13 had 13A fuses and 4 had 3A fuses.

they may not be puting 13A in but most that turn up (90%+) have 13A's in
just wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

Thermistor poorly bonded to heater would normly cause the overshoot your seeing.
