Kapton Tape

Kapton tape is a high temperature tape that is electrically insulating. We get ours from RS Components.

Kapton tape was previously used when repairing a thermal fuse as it is necessary to insulate the fuse (which is live 240V) from the metal heater plate. Obviously if the two touched, then the plate would be live and you might get an electric shock.
