Wrong Cables

There are three different types of cables used in genuine GHDs.

Mk3 and type 1 Mk4 models:

This is the most common type of cable socket end and was used for many years. These cable are available from the shop here.

Type 2 Mk4 models:

Some GHD 4.2 and SS4.0 straighteners have a different style cable connector. We now stock this part on our shop in black / pink / purple. If you would like to swap the cable you have for one of these, please see the bottom of this page.

There is a flaw with the cable socket that goes with this cable, so we supply an upgraded version which replaces the original and is more reliable. See this page for more details.

GHD 5.0 models

We do not stock this cable, however the cable and the socket together can be replaced with a type 2 mk4 cable. For a fitting guide see the mk5 cable replacement page.

Fake GHDs

Fake GHDs can often use different cable styles. Because there are so many different versions of fake GHD we can't say for certain which type of cable you'll need, however if it's not the normal GHD cable, then you could try one of the following two cables:

Returning Cables

If you purchased the cable from us and it's not right, you can either return it for a refund or request an exchange if one of the other types of cable we stock is suitable.

Please include your name, order number (a 4 digit number) and what type of cable you'd like to swap for. If you are in a hurry to get your GHDs working again, you can always order and pay for a second cable and then return the other cable for a refund.
