Reprogramming the 12F629

Postby repairs online » 03 Dec 2011, 15:21

Later models of genuine GHDs use the 12F629 pic, it is the device which controls and monitors everything that takes place in your GHD. A lot of people say that the code which resides in these PICS is protected and therefore can not be hacked into. That may be the case. But surely, the same PIC can be programmed in a different way to perform the same job.

Is any one aware of a such a code or have you got the ability to write such code.

All PICs have input and output pins, one input may be monitoring the resistance of the NTC resistor which would be needed to regulate the temperature of the heaters.

Your views welcomed, Let's write a new code.

Afraid not... Software development and testing is expensive so the parts would probably be between £5 and £10 each.
