Corioliss C2 - 'ERR' dislpayed

Postby nird » 10 Oct 2012, 21:38

Wondering if anyone would have any experience with Corioliss C2.

They heat up fine then display 'ERR' on the digitial control and stop heating.
It is intermittent although does happen most times.
I have tested at various temperatures and it does not seem to matter whether low or high temperature when fault is displayed.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,
Normally a cable problem but could be a loose connection.
The C2 control box monitors the heater resistance to determine its temperature, if it detects a out of tolerance reading it ERR's and stops.
It might even be a dirty swivel joint.
I normally read the ohm's of the heaters at the control box (no electric) and then wiggle/twist/rotate cable move plates about, the reading should be steady but if you find a action that makes it jump about repair the problem.

Cheers
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Many thanks for the replay. I did in fact replace the cable between the digital control box and the straighteners and it did resolve the problem.

Thanks again.

Hi mate,
My girlfriend has some C2 straighteners with the same ERR problem.
How did you replace the wire ? Any step by step instructions ?

Thanks

Hi,
Dont know of any.
to remove cable from iron.

1 remove both C2 hinge covers
2 undo hinge and push out
3 part arms
4 remove 2 small screws at rear
5 lift rear cover a little and slide back complete cover.
6 remove cable.

the control box is straight forward to get to the cable.

Sorry not much help but possibly a little.

cheers
kevin
