US purchased 4.1b Ghd stopped working in the UK

I am a US user of the 4.1b ghd and I loved it! I am currently travelling in the UK and tried to use my ghd with a plug adapter (the straightner is supposed to have universal voltage). It heat up for about 3 minutes and then went dead!!! It will not work anymore even if I try to use the reset button. Please help!
I am out of the warranty period.

They should easily be repairable. Try options 2 or 3 as described at http://www.ghd-repair.co.uk/faq_ghds_broken.html
